Västerås Design Award

2009-04 to 2009-06

During spring 2009 I was proud to sub­mit the win­ning con­cept in Västerås Design Award. The com­pe­tition was ar­ranged by Västerås' county and ABB and com­peti­tors were tasked to de­sign con­cepts of charg­ing sta­tions for elec­tric cars. The win­ning con­cept, called simply "Style", was a mod­ern take on the old fuel pumps as an elec­trical charging sta­tion. The de­sign in­corpo­rated a light fea­ture which should pulse when charg­ing and glow while free, and in such ease under­standing of both usage and func­tion of the prod­uct.

I also submit­ted two other con­cepts: "Flash" and "Sail" which was in­spired by the elec­tricity as­pect of the prod­uct and the water rich nat­ural envi­ronment of Mälardalen re­spec­tively.
